Alaska Shore Excursions

Alaska Shore Excursions

Experiencing Alaska by cruise ship is more popular than ever. Our favorite cruises travel between Vancouver, BC and either Whittier or Seward Alaska on one-way, week long itineraries. These cruises are a perfect match for pre or post cruise land tours to exciting destinations like Denali National Park. Round trip cruises from Vancouver or Seattle are also available on several major cruise lines. You won’t see as much of Alaska, but these cruises can serve as a good introductory Alaska trip for those who like to cruise and have budget or time constraints.

Regardless of which Alaska cruise you select, you will visit several fascinating ports of call in Southeast Alaska such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Sitka and more. In each port you will have ample time to explore the community, and optional trips like glacier tours, train rides and helicopter flights are available. In Juneau, you can even rent a car or van for the day and explore on your own.

Below we have listed some of the more popular shore excursions for Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. These trips feature convenient, central departure points for cruise passengers and other visitors as well.

If you are embarking or disembarking a cruise in Whittier or Seward be sure to check out the train and bus cruise transfer options, and of course our complete line of post and pre cruise land tours.

Booking an independent shore excursion like the trips on this page have many benefits. These trips are typically less expensive than cruise line options, are operated by reputable Alaskan owned suppliers, and often are significantly less crowded. However, they are best suited for independent guests, and most trips require a short walk to a central departure point. If you have mobility limitations, or would just prefer to board your tour dockside, you may want to purchase your tour on board from the cruise line.
