Lake Clark National Park Bear Viewing Flight from Anchorage
A Lake Clark National Park bear viewing tour provides an Alaska experience of a lifetime. After an approximately hour and ten minute flightseeing tour from Anchorage to Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, guides escort you by boat to lakeside areas where bears feed on spawning, wild Alaska salmon. Situated at the headwaters of Bristol Bay, Lake Clark National Park and Preserve is an epitome of the Alaska wilderness landscape. At four million acres, the Park encompasses volcanoes, jagged mountains, glaciers, wild rivers, waterfalls and diverse Alaska wildlife populations. Enjoy viewing the scenic landscape and wildlife, photographing bears or simply enjoying a cruise around the lake on a covered pontoon boat. Redoubt Mountain Lodge is in a remote area accessible only by plane so many of the common expectations of "civilization" are not available. Views of the pristine wilderness and the glacier at the end of the lake compensate for leaving civilization behind. Dress comfortably and in layers, bring a camera, extra clothes for an additional layer, and rain gear as a sunny and warm day in Anchorage can turn windy, rainy, and cold in the National park. Generally speaking the weather is cooler than in Anchorage where you depart from. The lunch is salmon, rice, salad, cookies. Tea and coffee, lemonade and ice tea are available.
Complimentary transfers are available from most major Anchorage hotels.
What To Wear
Due to unpredictable Alaskan weather, we advise dressing in layers, which will allow you to stay warm and dry as the outdoor environment changes. For this event, please also bring comfortable walking shoes and a jacket that can shield you from light wind or rain. Don't forget your camera and binoculars for the many photo opportunities along the way.
