Denali Walking Tour PM
The Denali Adventure Walk is considered a moderate hike on both improved and unimproved trails. During the walk, your guide will provide frequent interpretation while you explore the taiga forested area in Denali National Park's frontcountry. The boreal forest in the lower elevations gives way to specialized sub-arctic ecosystems like taiga and tundra. The permafrost areas and fantastic mountains are home to plants and animals highly adapted to the harsh elements. Your guide will stop frequently to explain this in depth. This tour is not meant to be a workout, but it is three consecutive hours of walking on sometimes unimproved trails. Average pace is about one mile per hour with frequent stops. There is time for resting, drinking, conversing, and even picking berries in season. The guides trails both inside and outside Denali Park, depending on where the best walking can be found. Small groups, experienced guides and the beauty of the north side of the Alaska range make this tour a great way to immerse yourself in the place you have traveled so far to see.
