The
Alaska Explorer Escorted Tour is a six-night, seven-day land tour featuring
Fairbanks, Denali National Park and Anchorage. Highlights include the Alaska
Railroad, Denali wildlife tour, Alaska Native Heritage Center, and the Riverboat
Discovery. A local guide will escort your group throughout the entire trip.
Meals are included as indicated. This trip is an excellent pre-cruise land tour
for those passengers departing on a gulf of Alaska cruise with Holland America Line from Seward.

Alaska Explorer Escorted Tour Itinerary
Day 1, Monday: Fly into Fairbanks. Hotel courtesy transportation is provided to the hotel and overnight in Fairbanks, the Heart of the Interior.
Day 2, Tuesday: Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, meet your local Alaskan tour director and learn how the gold rush affected Alaska's interior on a city sightseeing adventure of Fairbanks with an included visit to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks Museum. Time is available for shopping, walking or dining on your own in the downtown area. Cruise on the Chena River aboard the grand sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery III which will transfer you back to the time when rivers were used as transportation. During the cruise, learn about Alaska Native culture on a tour of an Athabaskan Indian village, hear a professional racer discuss dog mushing, and see a bush pilot take off and land. This evening, take an optional trip to Alaska Land and enjoy the famous salmon bake dinner, where salmon and halibut are the specialty. Overnight Fairbanks. Meals: Breakfast
Day 3, Wednesday: Breakfast at the hotel. Ride the motorcoach south along the Parks Highway to Denali National Park with a stop at the rural community of Nenana known for its river festivals and the Nenana Ice Classic. Afternoon free at Denali Park to experience the many optional attractions in Denali including rafting, flightseeing, helicopter tours, hiking, Park Service programs or the Denali Dinner Theater. Overnight at Denali. Meals: Breakfast
Day 4, Thursday: Breakfast at the hotel. Open morning in Denali. This afternoon, travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the pristine wilderness for bear, moose, caribou, and sheep. This tour is approximately eight hours and includes a snack box meal and hot beverages. Overnight at Denali. Meals: Breakfast, Snack Box
Day 5, Friday: Breakfast at the hotel. Your morning is free for optional activities. This afternoon board the world famous Alaska Railroad for the day trip to Anchorage. As you travel along the Susitna River, you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. McKinley or black bear along the banks of the Susitna River. Overnight in Anchorage. Meals: Breakfast
Day 6, Saturday: Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a brief tour of Anchorage, with a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center, a gathering place that celebrates, perpetuates and shares Alaska Native cultures. Tonight, feast on an Alaskan style meal at the Sourdough Mining Company, located in a replica mill house and across from the world’s largest chocolate waterfall! Overnight in Anchorage. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 7, Sunday: Your Alaska Explorer Tour comes to an end with a hotel courtesy transfer to the central cruise line meeting point in downtown Anchorage or to the airport for flight connections.

Pricing
The price for this package ranges from $1,235 in the shoulder season to a peak season rate of $1,515 per person, based on
double occupancy. Significant discounts are available for travel in May and
September. Rates do not include tax and are subject to change without notice.

Payment and Cancellation
Policy
A deposit equal to 30% of services reserved is due at the time of booking, with
the balance due 45 days prior to your first day of travel. Within 45 days of
travel, your package is non-refundable and non-changeable. Because we cannot
make exceptions to our cancellation or change policies for any reason, including
family and medical emergencies, we STRONGLY encourage you to purchase travel
insurance.
