Exit Glacier Tour 6:30 PM

Exit GlacierYour two-hour Exit Glacier Tour departs from the lobby of the Seward Windsong Lodge. You will travel by van approximately 8 miles along the scenic Resurrection River to the Exit Glacier Nature Center at Kenai Fjords National Park. Exit Glacier is the only part of the Park accessible by road. It is a place where you can witness up close how glaciers re-shape a landscape and learn how plant life reclaims the barren rocky land exposed by a glacier's retreat. Your naturalist guide provides narration about the topography, vegetation and natural habitats surrounding a glacial environment. It is about 3/4 of a mile to walk to the foot of the glacier. Walking routes vary based on tour departure and may include the Overlook Loop Trail and/or the Nature Trail. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your camera. Dress for the weather in layers, it is often cooler near the glacier. If you need transportation to the Seward Windsong Lodge they do offer a shuttle to the Lodge from the Small Boat Harbor and downtown near the Alaska SeaLife Center. During the summer you can call the Lodge for details at 224-7116.
