Mt. McKinley Adventure

Helicopter over glacierLift off over the banks of the Chulitna River and immediately see the numerous glaciers covering the high mountain peaks and the vast south slope of Denali, known as "The Great One". Crossing the Chulitna River, a winter highway to the interior, your pilot describes the incredible scenery of the Alaska Mountain Range. Flying north along Coffee River, the terrain changes from lush green overgrowth to craggy rock and ice. The towering granite monolith of the Moose's tooth comes into view as you pass areas that intimidate the hardiest hikers and climbers. You'll marvel at the sight of the east buttress of Denali, one of the most difficult climbing routes to the top. You'll see Explorers peak, Mt. Dan Beard and the numerous peaks that surround the largest mountain in North America - majestic Mt. McKinley. Following a fork of the Ruth Glacier into the grand Sheldon Amphitheater, you will see jagged Mt. Huntington and snow-capped Mt. Hunter. You will then head south of the Alaska Range by way of the towering Tokositna Mountains and the Tokositna Glacier. Your tour will return to our heliport by way of the Chulitna River. Tour route may vary due to weather conditions. This tour is approximately 50 minutes long, allow two hours with transfers and safety briefing. There is an additional charge for guests weighing 250 pounds or more, ask your reservation agent for details. Please note this tour departs from the ERA South Denali Park heliport located just north of the McKinley Princess Lodge at mile 134 of the Parks Highway. The heliport is roughly 45 miles north of Talkeetna and 100 south of the Denali National Park entrance.
