This exciting tour begins on the glacial waters of the Tazlina River. A short trek down the Tazlina by jetboat brings you to the Copper River and the entrance to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Like the explorers that came to this valley more than a century ago, on the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness Adventure, you will glimpse the same pristine wilderness that drew them to this region. Visit a Copper River fish wheel and learn about the local’s subsistence way of life. While traveling on the rivers, there are many opportunities to view eagles, as well as possibly moose, brown and black bears. Take a walk with your guide and visit the ruins of a prospector’s cabin, learn more about the gold mining history of the region, and then experience gold panning yourself. Your final destination is the historic town of Copper Center founded in 1898 and rich in history where you’ll have time to explore prior to being transported back to the Copper Princess Wilderness Lodge.

What To Wear
Due to unpredictable Alaskan weather, we advise dressing in layers, which will allow you to stay warm and dry as the outdoor environment changes. For this event, please also bring comfortable walking shoes and a jacket that can shield you from light wind or rain.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
A deposit equal to 30% of services reserved is due at the time of booking, with the balance due 45 days prior to your first day of travel. The following change and cancellation fees apply. Between 45 to 31 days prior to your first day of travel a 10% cancel/change fee will apply. Between 30 to 15 days prior to your first day of travel a 50% cancel/change fee will apply. Within 14 days of travel, your package is non-refundable and non-changeable. Because we cannot make exceptions to our cancellation or change policies for any reason, including family and medical emergencies, we STRONGLY encourage you to purchase travel insurance.
