- Denali Interpretive Hike - 4 hour
Overview
An ideal tour for active travelers looking for an adventuresome morning excursion, this four-hour trek heads into the mountains bordering Denali National Park. The views are worth it on this strenuous hike.
The views are worth it.
The morning kicks off with convenient hotel pickups. After a chat to discover the group's interests, your guide will settle on the best trail for the trip. In some cases "trail" is a loose definition. You may get the chance to hike well off trail as you ascend through forests to brushy tundra above tree line.
Your guide talks and encourages questions along the way, providing an ongoing narration: Flora, fauna, land features, and natural history. It all enriches your experience hiking on the north side of the Alaska Range. The morning's trek wraps up with a return trip to the Denali train depot and local area hotels.
More Details
Hiking location varies based on current conditions and the interests of the group. The hike is sometimes off trail and rarely flat, so the trip is best for active travelers. This is a small group tour with no more than eight guests per guide. Total tour time is four hours, with a little over three hours hiking.
If you're looking for a slightly longer hike, or one in the afternoon, check out the five-hour Denali Interpretive Hike.
