Many of the state's best loved destinations are accessible by car, especially those in Southcentral and Interior Alaska. You can drive to Denali National Park and Kenai Fjords National Park, visit Talkeetna and Seward, and even make your way farther north to Fairbanks. Going by car is also often the only way to visit those places further off-the-beaten-path like Homer, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, and Valdez. Between these destinations you'll be treated to some of the most scenic drives in Alaska.
Alaska Tour & Travel specializes in custom travel packages, and that includes giving you the option to choose between a standard rental car or premium 4x4 rental. You can go most everywhere with a standard rental, especially if Denali National Park, Anchorage, Fairbanks, and smaller towns like Seward and Girdwood are on the itinerary. A premium car rental permits driving on more remote gravel roads like the Denali Highway and McCarthy Road. With a premium 4x4 rental you also have a one-way drop option between Anchorage and Fairbanks.
