The tour departs from the Homer airport. Keep your camera close to capture the quickly changing panoramas below. Rugged coastline, distant glaciers, and mountains laced with waterfalls eventually give way to the grey water of Cook Inlet. At 9,000 feet tall, Augustine dominates the horizon, and soon you'll begin to see in detail the rugged slopes and steaming vents of this active stratovolcano.

The tour includes two landings on the volcano plus a picnic lunch. Throughout the tour, your pilot will share fascinating insights into the geological history and cultural significance of Augustine Volcano. The tour concludes with a return trip across the Cook Inlet and up Kachemak Bay to Homer.

The Homer Volcano Expedition lasts four hours, which includes just over an hour of flight time, two volcano landings, and a picnic lunch.

Special Instructions

This is a moderately active excursion with opportunities to walk short distances on uneven terrain at landing sites. To calculate accurate weight and balance for the aircraft, each passenger must provide their weight when making a reservation.
