Fly into Fairbanks and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight Fairbanks.
Your trip officially begins with a city tour of Fairbanks this morning. The afternoon is open for optional activities. Choose from a sled dog tour, Arctic Circle flightseeing excursion, or several other options nearby. Your guide is available to coordinate. This full first day concludes with a chance to see the northern lights on an evening aurora tour.

The day begins with a drive by motorcoach through the wintery landscape between Fairbanks and Denali National Park. The group stops in the town of Nenana, home of the Nenana Ice Classic, on the way. After arriving in the Denali Park area, the tour includes time at the Murie Science and Learning Center and the chance to go snowshoeing in the park. Tonight take advantage of another opportunity to see the northern lights.

Experience peak wintertime views from the comfort of a cozy train car on today's trip to Anchorage aboard the Alaska Railroad. Keep the camera close, it is a scenic ride.

Travel south of Anchorage down the windswept Turnagain Arm this morning for a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. From here the group heads back to Girdwood, a ski town tucked among towering, snow-covered mountains. Ride 2,000 vertical feet up the face of one of those mountains aboard the ski area tram for gorgeous views from the top. In the evening, return to Anchorage.

A winter visit to Alaska is not complete without seeing sled dogs on the move, so today the group heads to Big Lake to visit a working kennel. Happy Trails Kennel is operated by Martin Buser, a four-time Iditarod champion. Between sometimes harrowing and sometimes hilarious tales from the trail, guests get a glimpse into the life of a musher. A stop at the Iditarod Headquarters on the way back to Anchorage caps off the day.

Explore more of Anchorage, from its historic landmarks to its busy bush plane hub at Lake Hood, on a city tour this morning. In the afternoon, dive into history, culture, art, science, and vivid Alaskan stories at the excellent Anchorage Museum. This enriching day concludes with a farewell dinner.
