Trip Protection Options
Because we cannot make exceptions to our cancellation or change policies for any reason, including natural disasters and family or medical emergencies, we encourage all of our guests to purchase travel insurance.
If you decide not to purchase travel insurance we strongly recommend that you consider our simple, low-cost cancellation waiver.
Worry-Free Cancellation Waiver
Our cancellation waiver program allows you to change or cancel your reservation for any reason without a fee or penalty up until 31 days prior to travel. In addition, you will receive a refund for your trip in the event that you must cancel within 30 days due to a medical emergency or death within your traveling party, or a death within your immediate family. This waiver applies before and during your trip, as long as we receive cancellation notice at least 24 hours prior to your individual service dates. The waiver is not available for escorted vacation packages or Alaska cruises.
The cancellation waiver costs 3% of covered services and is non-refundable, although guests confirming their trip at least 60 days prior to travel will have 14 days to add or remove the waiver.
Our cancellation waiver program is not travel insurance, and only covers cancellation fees normally charged by Alaska Tour & Travel. You can find additional details below.
Additional Cancellation Waiver Details
Cancellation penalties will be waived for services purchased through Alaska Tour & Travel (AT&T) when the cancellation is a direct result of sickness, injury, or death of the traveler, a traveling companion, or family member. Traveling companions include all passengers in your party booked on the same itinerary through AT&T and covered by the cancellation waiver. Family members include traveler's spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or legal guardian. Sickness or injury must require a doctor's care, and a written statement from a doctor is necessary. If you have become ill with Covid, or tested positive for Covid, you provide a positive PCR test or documentation of a virtual/in-person witnessed antigen test. In case of a death, a copy of a death certificate will be required. In order for cancellation penalties to be waived, you must give notice to AT&T 24 hours prior to the cancelled service.
