Who are we?

Alaska Tour & Travel specializes in arranging custom vacation packages to Alaska for summer visitors. Our guests are predominately from outside Alaska, nearly all are from the US and Canada. We have been in business for 25 years, and we have helped over 250,000 visitors plan and experience a trip of a lifetime to Alaska. Our office is in midtown Anchorage on Arctic Boulevard. Our office staff ranges seasonally from 12 to 20 employees. Most of our communication with our guests is by phone and email.

We also operate the Park Connection Motorcoach, which is a bus service that runs between Denali Park and Seward daily during the summer months. In addition to our office staff, we also have a team that assists and oversees the Park Connection during the summertime.

What type of jobs do we have?

Our primary business is making reservations for visitors coming to Alaska, so naturally our Reservation Agents are the heart of Alaska Tour & Travel. Our reservation agents work as a team, communicating with guests by phone and email, while preparing custom travel packages using a computerized reservation system. A typical day will include making reservations for Alaska travel products, preparing quotes, answering general questions regarding travel to Alaska, and other miscellaneous office duties. We look for team members with solid computer skills, a good knowledge of Alaska, an excellent attitude, and the ability and desire to work as a team member. We generally have both full-time and seasonal reservation agents.

Many of our employees start as Seasonal Reservation Agents. We generally interview and hire for these positions from November through March, with agents working as early as January through early September. We do have the flexibility of offering positions for college students who want to work part-time around class schedules through early May, switching to full-time May through the end of August. Most of our Full-time Reservation Agents are hired from team members who have first worked for us seasonally. We do hire some team members for this position from outside the company, but they must have plenty of relevant work experience in the Alaska travel industry and solid work references. Full-time agents qualify for company benefits.

Our Park Connection Motorcoach team consists of Park Connection Supervisors and Park Connection Expeditors. Supervisors oversee the team and coordinate the daily Park Connection operations to maintain the motorcoach schedule and high level of service. Expeditors greet passengers boarding motorcoaches downtown, load and unload luggage, answer questions about our state, and check in passengers. Often expeditors help in our office with basic duties such as filing, answering phones, and document preparation. Since the Park Connection operates seasonally form May to mid-September, most of the team is seasonal.

How do you apply?

Many of our seasonal team members come back year after year, so positions are limited. If you are interested in joining our team, come into our office and introduce yourself, or give us a call to see what positions we may have available. We typically interview and hire for reservation agents in December and January, and Park Connection staff in late winter to early spring.

We encourage you to come into our office to apply in person, or download an application here, and email it to us at the address below. Be sure to include a resume if you have one prepared. We will contact you shortly after we review your application. Still have questions? Give us a call!
