Overview
A popular pick for families with kids or travelers coming into Seward on the morning train, this cruise treats passengers to 50 scenic miles of calm cruising in Resurrection Bay. Depending on the time of year, lucky passengers may even catch a glimpse of whales on the tour's very first leg in route to Fox Island.
The captain picks a route with the best wildlife views.
In the timber frame Fox Island Day Lodge guests enjoy a hearty lunch of fish or chicken, rolls, cooked veggies, salad, and cookies. The Fox Island stop also leaves enough time for guests to enjoy Skipping Stone Beach and the Sitka spruce forests bordering the cove.
With a timely toot of the boat horn passengers climb aboard the boat once again. The captain picks a course through small inlets and around rocky capes for the best wildlife views. Passengers often see droves of seabirds, sea otters, and even noisy sea lions hauled out windswept rocks. The mountains make a splendid backdrop for this diverse array of creatures, as do the surprising alpine glaciers high atop them. The scenic boat trip wraps up with a return to the Seward harbor.
