Upon takeoff at the tiny Talkeetna Airport, the trees drop away and the vast Alaskan Range quickly comes into view. The landscape changes dramatically over the next 60 miles in route to the big mountains. Spruce forests give way to snow fields, and the lush green of thriving plant life fades into the austere grey of granite peaks. Adapting to the day's conditions, the pilot may navigate a route up Kahiltna or Ruth Glacier, through the sprawling Sheldon Amphitheater, past the 15,000-foot Wickersham Wall, or along the faces of Mt. Foraker, Hunter, and Silverthorne. The colossal presence of Denali hovers over it all.
The unforgettable hour-long trip concludes with a return to the Talkeetna Airport.

The tour operator runs several different types of aircraft, included the Cessna 185 (four passengers), DeHavilland Beaver (six to seven passengers), and DeHavilland Turbine Otter (10 passengers). Passengers on all planes have window seats. Headsets with mics are provided.
What to Bring
Bring a jacket, sunglasses, and camera. Passengers concerned about motion sickness should bring preventatives with them as none are available at the tour operator office.
Special Instructions
Check in 30 minutes prior to flight departure. Accurate passenger weight is required for aircraft weight and balance. The tour operator carefully monitors weather in the mountains and will not fly if conditions are unsafe. If this happens, full refunds are issued for flights cancelled due to weather that cannot be rescheduled.
Transfers & Meeting Points
The tour operator provides complimentary shuttle service to the airport from locations in Talkeetna when arranged in advance. Self-drive guests can park in front of the tour office at the Talkeetna Airport.
