The National Parks Escorted Tour is a seven-night, eight-day land tour featuring travel to Denali National Park, Talkeetna, Seward, and Anchorage. Highlights include the a glacier and wildlife cruise to Kenai Fjords National Park, a dome car ride on the Alaska Railroad, and a Tundra Wildlife Tour in Denali National Park. A local guide will escort your group throughout the entire trip and meals are included as indicated. Note all tours begin and end on a Monday. National Parks Escorted Tour Itinerary - tour 9820 (7 night)

Day 1

Fly into Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. Meet your transfer to a local hotel and meet your Alaskan Guide. Overnight in Anchorage. Meals: None

Day 2

Board the motorcoach for a journey north to Denali National Park. The route takes you along the scenic Parks Highway where you will make several stops along the way. Watch for a glimpse of majestic Denali and wildlife along the way. Welcome dinner included this evening. Overnight Denali. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3

This morning travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the vast wilderness for bear, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. This six to eight hour journey is narrated allowing for insight into the animals, flora and fauna of this spectacular region including a snack on the bus. Enjoy an afternoon of exploring this pristine area at your leisure by either participating in a complimentary park service activity or optional tour. There are many to choose from including mild or wild-river rafting, flight seeing, a jet boat safari on the Nenana River or a visit to an Iditarod champions award winning dog kennel. Tonight, partake in an optional Denali Dinner Theater. Early May and September tours are shortened due to road conditions. Overnight Denali. Meals: Breakfast, Snack Box

Day 4

This morning ride Deluxe Dome Railcars to the quaint community of Talkeetna, which began as a trading post when gold was first discovered in the Susitna River. The remainder of your day is at leisure to enjoy this quaint town to participate in an optional tour such as flightseeing, hiking, or a jet boat adventure. Overnight Talkeetna. Meals: Breakfast

Day 5

Board the motorcoach for a journey south to Seward, gateway of the Kenai Fjords National Park. As you travel along Turnagain Arm, keep an eye out for Dall Sheep high up on the rocky cliffs, as well as moose, bear, and eagle on your journey. Overnight Seward. Meals: Breakfast

Day 6

Spend the morning exploring the coastal community of Seward. Later this morning, board a glacier and wildlife cruise and travel through the majestic Kenai Fjords National Park. Explore the face of a glacier and keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, bears, eagles, and puffins throughout this half-day exploration cruise with lunch included on the boat. Overnight Seward. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch on Boat

Day 7

Ride the motorcoach to Anchorage. Upon arrival into Anchorage, enjoy a brief city tour of Anchorage, featuring the historic downtown area as well as the Anchorage Museum, a world-class museum which seeks to preserve, exhibit, and interpret the art and history of Alaska. Tonight, share stories of your Alaskan Adventure with your traveling companions at a closing night dinner. Overnight Anchorage. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 8

Your adventure comes to an end with a transfer to the airport. Meals: Breakfast

Pricing

The price for this package ranges from $2,369 in the shoulder season to a peak season rate of $2,581 per person, based on double occupancy. Significant discounts are available for travel in May and September. Rates DO include tax and are subject to change without notice. Single, triple and quad rates are available on request.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

A deposit equal to 30% of services reserved is due at the time of booking, with the balance due 45 days prior to your first day of travel. Within 45 days of travel, your package is non-refundable and non-changeable. Because we cannot make exceptions to our cancellation or change policies for any reason, including family and medical emergencies, we STRONGLY encourage you to purchase travel insurance.
