Wilderness Express Dining

A ride on the Wilderness Express premier dome service is more than traveling from one destination to the next, it's an experience in and of itself. It starts with a warm welcome by an onboard host and reserved seating under dome windows, then culminates with delectable onboard dining that many call the best on Alaska's rails. The Wilderness Express serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on their daily summer train service between Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali National Park, and Fairbanks.

Breakfast on the Wilderness Express features morning staples with an Alaskan twist. Blueberry pancakes are served with organic birch syrup, while local reindeer sausage gives the classic egg scramble a savory kick. Lighter options include a garden scramble or warm cream of barley made with local grains. Along with coffee, tea, and juices, passengers can also enjoy a bloody Mary, mimosa, or specialty coffee or cocktails.

Wilderness Express signature soups are a passenger favorite at lunch. They include Alaskan Smoked Salmon Chowder and Halibut Caesar Wrap. Sandwiches and salads round out the midday menu.

The dinner menu presents soup and salad starters, and a refined list of entrees. Among that list is a delicious fresh halibut dish, prime rib cooked to order, and a hearty reindeer sausage ravioli. Passengers are encouraged to save some room. The dessert menu is impossible to resist!
