Overview

It's 120 miles from Anchorage to Seward, a beautiful ride that offers some especially scenic destinations along the way. You'll enjoy many of those plus narration by a local driver-guide on this seven-hour cruise transfer and tour.

The tour starts with convenient pickups in the Anchorage area before heading south on the Seward Highway. This is a National Scenic Byway with sweeping views of the Turnagain Arm. After a couple photo stops on the way you'll turn off at Girdwood for lunch and a ride up the Mt. Alyeska tramway.

The second major stop of the day comes just 20 more minutes down the Seward Highway. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center you'll have time to see resident wildlife, from moose to wolves and sometimes even bears. The center is a rehabilitation and education facility, so along with some splendid photo opportunities you'll also learn much about these beloved Alaskan species. To cap the tour off you'll have one final leg-stretcher closer to Seward at Exit Glacier weather and time permitting. Your transfer concludes with a drop off at the Seward cruise terminal.

The Anchorage to Seward Tour & Transfer lasts about seven hours with a ride up the Mt. Alyeska tram, lunch in Girdwood, a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a stop at Exit Glacier in Seward weather permitting, and multiple stops for photos along the way. This small-group experience is fully narrated by a driver-guide. Transportation is by comfortable Sprinter van.

Please note, from May 1 through May 16 this tour operates under a modified format due to seasonal closures at the Alyeska Tram and Exit Glacier Visitor Center.

What to Bring

Some of the tour is conducted outside, so wear layers and sturdy walking shoes. Be sure to keep your rain jacket and a hat on hand.

Special Instructions

This excursion requires a moderate level of activity, with walks to/from the Alyeska tram, at the conservation center, and Exit Glacier.
