We're very good at planning perfectly customized Alaska itineraries. Yet no matter how well-planned the trip, we also know to expect the unexpected.

Here are two ways to protect your trip:

Worry-Free Cancellation Waiver

It's worry-free for good reason. This Alaska Tour & Travel program allows you to change or cancel your reservation for any reason without a fee or penalty up until 31 days prior to travel. In addition, you'll receive a refund for your trip if you must cancel within 30 days due to a medical emergency or death within your traveling party, or a death within your immediate family.

  • Cost: 3% of covered services booked through Alaska Tour & Travel
  • Fine Print: Cancellation Waiver fee is non-refundable. However, guests confirming their trip at least 60 days prior to travel will have 14 days to add or remove the waiver. Check out the full details here.
  • Bottom Line: If you're concerned about changing your mind about traveling, changes in your circumstances before your trip, or the health of yourself or a family member, consider the Cancellation Waiver.

Travel Insurance

Traditional travel insurance reimburses expenses related to trip cancellation, delay, interruption, baggage delay/loss, and emergency medical services when those things occur from covered reasons.

  • Cost: Depends on your total trip cost, age, and state of residence.
  • Fine Print: The key to understanding trip insurance is knowing exactly what those covered reasons are. We are happy to initiate a quote for you, but we are not insurance agents. Read your policy carefully to understand exactly what is and is not covered.
  • Bottom Line: Think of it as protection for your expenses, your luggage, and yourself. If your biggest concern is a disruption while you're traveling, consider trip insurance.

Some Things to Consider

A couple last things:

  • The Cancellation Waiver is an alternative to Trip Insurance and does not cover expenses related to cancellations outside of what you've booked through Alaska Tour & Travel (for example, airfare)
  • If you purchase travel insurance through Alaska Tour & Travel, we will waive our 10% fee for changes or cancellations made up until 31 days prior to travel.
