- Denali Trailblazer ATV Tour (4 Wheeler)
Overview
The Trailblazer Adventure ATV tour begins with a 15-minute shuttle ride out of the Denali Park area and into the ATV staging area outside Healy. The shuttle driver narrates along the drive, telling stories about the area. Upon arrival, tour guides give a safety briefing, and outfit guests with helmets, goggles, and rain gear if needed.
Weave through forests, creeks, and boggy tundra.
Once all drivers pass through a beginner safety course on their four wheelers, the group heads onto the trails. Guides lead the way through a network of rocky tracks that weave through forests, creeks, and boggy tundra. Chances of spotting wildlife are higher the farther into the backcountry the tour travels.
In between sections of rugged trail, the group takes rest stops to check out glacial moraines, historical sites, and panoramic overlooks. Guides point out landmarks like Mt. Healy and Otto Lake, provide information about the area's early settlers, and chat about what it takes to live in such a remote place year-round. The breaks are brief, and then it's off again through rocky gullies, mud, and trail-less riverbeds. After returning to the ATV base camp, the tour concludes with a return shuttle ride back to the Denali park area.
