Overview
This Park Connection bus line bound for Anchorage affords passengers lovely views and a comfortable ride on the six-hour route from Denali Park. The drive starts in the canyon area outside the park entrance and slowly descends through open tundra into spruce forests. After passing over the 250-foot-high Hurricane Gulch Bridge, the route progresses alongside Kesugi Ridge to the east, and the Alaska Range to the west. At Willow, the small town that hosts the official Iditarod start in March every year, the highway turns east toward Wasilla. The motorcoach drives through the Palmer Hayflats wildlife refuge and past Eagle River before arriving into Anchorage.

The Park Connection Motorcoach operates two trips daily from the Denali Park area to Anchorage. The early morning Park to Park route departs from the Grande Denali Lodge, Denali Bluffs Hotel, Denali Park Village Lodge, and Denali Cabins. The motorcoach drops passengers at the Anchorage airport and downtown Dena'ina Civic Center.
The afternoon Denali Express route leaves from the same Denali hotels and also drops passengers at the airport and the Dena'ina Civic Center in downtown Anchorage. This route gives travelers time for an activity in the morning before making the drive south. Both the morning and afternoon Denali Park to Anchorage motorcoaches make brief stops in Talkeetna.
More Details
The Park Connection runs a fleet of modern 52-seat motorcoaches equipped with seatbelts, footrests, armrests, and power outlets. There is one lavatory located in the rear of the bus. Seating is first-come, first-served. Park Connection drivers provide casual commentary on the surrounding area, keeping it light to give passengers time to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Luggage
The Park Connection allows two bags and one small carry on item per person. Large luggage is stowed in lower bays with room onboard for smaller items in overhead racks. Additional fees may apply for excessively large oversized bags or items like bicycles, fish boxes, fishing equipment, or climbing equipment. There is no charge for items like strollers, car seats, wheelchairs, scooters, or oxygen concentrators.
Accessability
Park Connection motorcoaches are wheelchair accessible. Please notify the Park Connection at least 48 hours in advance if wheelchair accessibility is required. Each motorcoach can accommodate up to two wheelchair passengers at one time.
Departure/Arrival Points
Passengers must be at their designated pickup location at least 15 minutes prior to the schedule departure time. Pickup and drop-off locations are strictly limited to the list below.
