Overview
Passengers on this northbound Park Connection route travel 130 miles from the coastal hub of Seward to Alaska's largest city. This stretch of highway is a designated National Scenic Byway and considered to be one of the most beautiful in the state by locals and visitors alike. From their comfortable motorcoach seats, passengers enjoy views of the Kenai Mountains, bright blue Kenai Lake, avalanche-scoured Turnagain Pass, and dramatic coastline of the Turnagain Arm. It is not uncommon to see moose, Dall sheep, and bald eagles on the three-hour trip.
Drive along a designated National Scenic Byway.
The Park Connection Motorcoach operates two trips daily between Seward and Anchorage. The morning Park to Park route leaves from the Seward Small Boat Harbor, Windsong Lodge, and Trail Lake Lodge. The Park Connection also offers a special departure directly from the cruise ship dock on select cruise days. Upon arrival into Anchorage, the coach drops passengers at the downtown Dena'ina Civic Center and Anchorage airport.
The early evening Seward Express route departs from the Seward Small Boat Harbor, Windsong Lodge, and Trail Lake Lodge, and drops passengers off at either the Dena'ina Civic Center in downtown Anchorage or the airport. This route is a perfect connection for travelers as they return on day cruises from Kenai Fjords National Park.
More Details
The Park Connection runs a fleet of modern 52-seat Prevost motorcoaches. Passengers onboard enjoy comfortable reclining seats equipped with seatbelts, footrests, armrests, and outlets. Seating is first-come, first-served. There is one lavatory located in the rear of the bus. Large luggage is stowed by Park Connection staff in lower bays. Guests can store their smaller items in overhead bins.
Park Connection drivers provide casual commentary on the surrounding area, keeping it light to give passengers time to relax and enjoy the picturesque wonder of Alaska's landscape. Photo stops may be made at the driver's discretion as weather and time permits.
What to Bring
The motorcoaches have large picture windows at every seat, so bring a camera onboard to capture the scenery along the way.
