Alaska's wildlife is as defining of the state as its landscapes. These images of moose, caribou, eagles, bears, and more, are some of our most favorite from over the years.

That there is no guarantee of seeing these animals in the wild only makes the moments when you do (and the chance to snap a photo or two) that much more special. Day cruises into Kenai Fjords National Park, bus tours into Denali National Park, and bear viewing trips to Lake Clark and Katmai afford the best opportunities to view Alaska's big wildlife in their beautiful natural environments.
