Around Town Alaska Gallery

Although occasionally eclipsed by the state's natural wonders, Alaska's towns and villages have much to offer. In most cases, that's warm hospitality, along with plenty of personality.

In the Southeast part of the state are little coastal towns dotting the Inside Passage, many of which are popular ports of call for Alaska cruise ships. In Alaska's Southcentral region, there are bayside communities like Seward and Homer, mountain hideaways like Cooper Landing and McCarthy, and the small city of Anchorage. Farther north is Fairbanks, and even farther north than that, there are Arctic outposts like Coldfoot and Wiseman.
