- Seward Helicopter Grand Ocean & Icebergs Flight
Overview
Spend time exploring some of the most beautiful spots in Kenai Fjords National Park on this two-hour heli tour out of Seward. The trip starts with a flight down Resurrection Bay where from the air it's not uncommon to spot pods of whales, eagles, and mountain goats in just a few minutes. From this picturesque waterway you'll ascend over the mountains to the west to gain your first view of the largest glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
View the largest glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
Bear Glacier flows some 21 miles from the Harding Icefield. The tour's first landing is often right near the face of it. Here you'll get to see first-hand the towering size of Bear Glacier's ice wall. In the half hour on the ground there's also a chance to see the glacier calving, quite a dramatic event at such a close distance.
Leaving this special place, the next landing is a quick flight across the Bear Glacier Lagoon to a secluded spot along the water. The lagoon is usually full of icebergs, and during this hour-long landing you'll have plenty of time to explore ice that's come ashore, watch bergs roll in the water farther out, and maybe even observe wildlife in the distance. This tour concludes with a return flight to Seward.
