Resurrection Bay, always beautiful, is particularly magical in the morning. It makes the early departure on this kayaking excursion well worth it. After gearing up at the operator's office in Seward, you'll take a quick van transfer to the harbor to catch your private water taxi out onto the water.

The water taxi is a comfortable vessel with spacious indoor seating for six. The boat ride lasts about 45 minutes, with stops to watch otters, porpoises, harbor seals, sea birds, and possibly even whales. Your paddle starts from the boat, a process that's pretty easy thanks to a cradle that keeps the kayak steady as you climb in. Soon you're paddling, surrounded by mossy cliffsides and towering trees, with bald eagles chittering above.
There's something for everyone here. Birds, a wealth of intertidal creatures, fascinating geology, and even a few caves for the more adventurous to poke into as conditions allow. After two hours or so of leisurely paddling and exploration, you'll meet the water taxi for a midday return to Seward.
The Emerald Coast Wildlife Viewing and Kayaking excursion takes guests to the less-traveled east coast of Resurrection Bay. Guests are provided with stable sit-in sea kayaks, paddles, spray skirts, gloves, paddling shoes, dry bags, and life jackets. This is an active experience with about two hours spent kayaking.
This outdoor adventure operates in most weather conditions. To ensure a fun experience, dress in warm synthetic layers (no cotton). Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long hiking pants (not jeans), and a fleece or down jacket. Bring full rain gear, an extra pair of wool socks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
This is an active excursion with a moderate level of activity. The tour is entirely on the water, with guests climbing into and out of their kayaks from the boat. Previous kayaking experience is not necessary. This tour is open to children 12 years and older weighing at least 90 lbs.
The tour starts at the operator office in Seward. Guests suit up there and then transfer by van to the private water taxi.
