Take the Bus

The Park Connection Motorcoach leaves Denali Park area hotels around 7:00 AM and makes a brief stop in Talkeetna before arriving in Anchorage around 1:30 PM. Depending on traffic, you will have one to two hours for a lunch stop and time to explore downtown. After the break you will depart at 3:00 PM for a scenic drive along the Turnagain Arm and through the Kenai Mountains. The coach arrives in Seward at approximately 5:45 PM.

Ride the Train

To travel by train, you would need to take the Denali Star from Denali to Anchorage, then spend the night and continue the next day on the Coastal Classic. For most travelers, it is more efficient to combine the train and the bus. For example, if you are flying into Anchorage, head north to Denali Park on the train, then south to Seward on the bus, and then back to Anchorage by train. This approach will save you time and money, while also offering a wider variety of scenery.
