Welcome to Anchorage! Once you arrive, pick up your rental car and head to your downtown accommodations. Overnight Anchorage.
It's time to hit the road for Denali. From Anchorage you'll head north through Willow (where the Iditarod sled dog race starts every year), along the border of Denali State Park, and over the Continental Divide at Broad Pass. We recommend swinging through Talkeetna for lunch on the way. Overnight Denali Park.
This morning's bus tour takes you deep into Denali National Park. You'll be treated to some stunning landscapes and, with luck, wildlife sightings. This afternoon spend time exploring the Denali front country on your own. The Denali sled dog kennel demo is a favorite. Overnight Denali Park.
Enjoy a serene morning raft trip on the Nenana River before making your way back along the Parks Highway toward the small town of Palmer. Your destination is a lodge on the Knik River. It's accessible by road, but feels wonderfully remote. Overnight Palmer.
It's sure to be a morning like no other. You're off on a helicopter tour of the Knik Glacier that includes three distinctive landings (and one on the glacier itself!). Once you get back to the lodge, the afternoon is yours. A drive to Hatcher Pass and the Independence Mine State Historical Park is a must. Overnight Palmer.
Your final day of driving takes you back through Anchorage, along the Turnagain Arm, and on into Seward where you'll turn in your rental. In the early afternoon stretch your legs on a guided hike to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. Overnight Seward.
Paddle the calm water of Resurrection Bay this morning before embarking on your cruise in the afternoon.
